Junior 2054 - Ossett **UNIQUE**

This juke was beyond restoration and, using the cabinet only, has been transformed into a unique custom jukebox by Ian Rimmington of Ossett in West Yorkshire. Ian is a seasoned jukebox restorer (https://classicjukeboxes.wixsite.com/website) and, in his own words:

"I was determined to do something unique, found a cheap Rowe-AMi hideaway 200-play and got to thinking what I could do with it. Anyway I had a BAL-AMi Junior in for repair, so I measured it and thought wow, I just may be able to squeeze this into a Junior cabinet and just happened to come by one. I also found a suitable amp and a set of good Sanyo speakers.
This was around two years ago (2023) and I must have walked past it a hundred times threatening to start it.

Eventually I did...

I rebuilt the cabinet taking 4" off the bottom, and wanted some retro legs so stability wasn't an issue. I moved the mech shelf down to accommodate the Rowe-AMi. Fitted 4 x 5" speakers, plus 2 x mid-range and two tweeters, then put a 12" sub in it pointing downwards. Set the amp to 2.1 configuration with separate volume control for the sub, and fitted a Bluetooth module.

I also broke the hideaway wallbox down and motorised the title pages mounted above the mech, where the buttons would normally be.

All plastics made by me apart from the laser cut letters."
