C.1960 BAL-AMi Century

Not much is known about this particular BAL-AMi jukebox. It was completely unheard of when this web site was first constructed in 1997, and there's no mention of it in the jukebox "encyclopaedia" The Ultimate Jukebox Guide.

It was only in 2006 that the first of these machines - all located in mainland Europe - were made known to me via the web site, and others quickly followed.

It is thought that a small manufacturing/distribution operation was set up by Balfour in or near Le Touquet in France to build them. The serial numbers that survive do, however, state "Made in England".

The machines themselves look to be based upon the S100 but have both manual and electric select mechanism options (the S100 is manual only) and have differences in the trim (e.g. the front bezel is upside down to that of the S100).
