BAL-AMi Model "I" Jukebox (1958)

 

 

Most of the Model I's made by BAL-AMi were of the manual select (spin wheel) variety, and in pink. Some electric select versions do exist, but these were probably imported from the US and simply rebadged, with appropriate electrical conversions for the UK market. The example pictured has had its sides painted in rock 'n' roll pink - the standard colour was charcoal.

Several BAL-AMi I200Ms exist with the turquoise cabinet, but strangely have a pink diffuser and cap, which makes them look like a hybrid. Quite why Balfour didn't fit the "correct" turquoise components is not known.

The standard pink/charcoal configuration for both UK and USA versions of the I200 looks like this:

The USA (AMi) version of the turquoise variant looks like this (note the diffuser and cap colouring):
